
Emily comes to the Foundation with a background in wilderness education. She spent seven years working closely with several small towns in the Rocky Mountains through her role as Head of Logistics with Outward Bound. In this capacity she also helped Outward Bound staff and students build quality, lasting relationships with communities like Leadville and Marble, Colorado. She earned her BA in biology from Amherst College and an MS in technical communications with a concentration in communications for natural resources and environmental issues from Colorado State University. Since completing her Master’s degree in 2008, Emily has focused primarily on communications and public relations for non-profits and has worked with a variety of organizations in Denver, including The Wildlife Experience and The Children’s Hospital. She has also worked as a freelance writer for Trails.com and was the technical editor for Facebook for Dummies (2nd ed.). A Colorado native, Emily lives in Denver.
